JTI (Japan Tobacco International) is an international tobacco company operating in over 130 countries. It is the global owner of the Winston (the world’s second largest brand in terms of sales) and Camel brands outside the United States. Other global brands include Mevius and LD. The JTI Group is also a major player in the alternative tobacco products market. Its portfolio includes the PLOOM heated tobacco brand. JTI is headquartered in
Geneva, Switzerland. JTI employs over 46,000 people worldwide and has been recognized with the Global Top Employer award for the past nine years, recognizing the best international employers. JTI is part of the Japan Tobacco Inc. Group, headquartered in Tokyo.

In 2007, JTI acquired the British Gallaher Group, which owned a tobacco plant in Stary Gostków near Łódź. Since 2008, the company has operated under the name JTI Polska and is now the second largest player in the tobacco industry in the cigarette category and a leader in the smoking tobacco category. The company offers tobacco products under the Winston, Camel, and LD brands, the Ploom X tobacco stick heater, and innovative tobacco products.

JTI’s investment in Poland is valued at nearly $1.3 billion. Stary Gostków (Łódź Voivodeship) is home to JTI’s largest production center in the world, from where 80% of production is exported to over 70 countries. In 2019, the company established a Global Business Services Center in Warsaw, which supports JTI worldwide in the areas of finance, legal affairs, human resources management, marketing, and the global supply chain.
