Company presentation

The company was founded in Belgium in 1963, starting with the production of underground tanks for fuel and heating oil. The name “STOKOTA” is derived from the Dutch word “STOOKOLIETANKS.”

The company quickly expanded, delivering high-quality welded storage tanks. In 1967, it began producing road tankers, a market in which Stokota rapidly became a leading specialist in the Benelux region.

The 1990s saw diversification into environmentally friendly vehicles, such as vacuum-loaded tankers and multifunctional vehicles used for waste collection and industrial cleaning. A significant portion of production was destined for export.

Stokota’s growth was further bolstered by acquisitions and the creation of new branches. In 1996, the first Polish branch was established in Kielce, and in 1998, Stokota acquired the company EKW, expanding its portfolio in the construction of specialized trailers.

In 2001, the Polish division expanded with the opening of a second production facility in Elbląg.

The company has consistently integrated its various production plants with Stokota’s philosophy. The high quality of its products and after-sales services has resulted in:

  • A strong market position in the tanker industry across both Eastern and Western Europe.
  • Continued growth in the development of environmentally friendly vehicles.
  • An innovative product offering, including hydraulically controlled and extendable trailers.

In 2016, drawing on its extensive experience in road tanker construction, Stokota established a new division focused on the production of airport tankers, including military tankers. Today, the Stokota Aviation Fueling Vehicles division specializes in aircraft refueling vehicles, hydrant dispensers, multifunctional vehicles with ground service equipment, such as fuel bowsers and fueling steps.

In 2022, Stokota began R&D efforts to introduce the first hydrogen transport vehicles to the European market, a segment the company plans to heavily invest in over the coming years.

Today, Stokota is an ambitious company with a solid market position, with its vehicles in use across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. You can spot our vehicles on public roads, at airports, and in industrial areas.

Stokota by the Numbers:

  • Employment: 320 employees across 3 locations, including 190 in Elbląg and 110 in Kielce.
  • Annual turnover: €34.4 million.
  • Number of vehicles produced weekly in 2023: 10 tankers per week.
  • Planned weekly production in 2024: 15 tankers per week.

Investment Plans

Over the next 6 years, the company plans to invest approximately 150 million PLN. The primary investment will be the construction of around 25,000 m² of production halls in Elbląg, Modrzewina. We aim to build one of the most modern manufacturing plants in Europe.

This investment will also involve increasing employment at the Elbląg factory. Our goal is to hire approximately 100 new employees in roles such as welder, assembler, automotive mechanic, pneumatic systems specialist, automotive electrician, car painter, paint shop manager, vehicle design engineers, and many others.
